Why does my product listing have several EAN ?

Modifié le  Mer, 19 Août à 11:50 H

A master product listing can end up carrying several product identifiers (EAN, GTIN or UPC). Your offers are then attached inconsistently. This article explains where the situation comes from and how we fix it together, depending on whether the product is already online or not.

Where do these multiple identifiers come from?

In almost every case, the same Shop SKU has been re-imported with a different product identifier. Mirakl keeps the history of the identifiers linked to that Shop SKU, so the master listing accumulates several EAN values.

Before any correction, we ask you to confirm this point: did you re-import the same Shop SKU with a different Product ID (EAN, GTIN or UPC)? Your answer determines what comes next.

⚠️ Important
One Shop SKU matches one single product, with a product identifier that stays stable over time. Reusing a Shop SKU for another product, or changing its EAN, recreates the problem every time.

What should I do if the product is already accepted and displayed?

As the product is online, starting from scratch is not possible without affecting your live offers. Send us a file listing the correct matches between your Shop SKU values and the correct Product ID values: we restore the correct link from that file.

What should I do if the product is not displayed yet?

As long as the product is not displayed, the simplest route is a clean restart: we delete the products concerned, then you re-import them with the correct identifiers. We wait for your explicit approval before any deletion — no product is deleted without your agreement.

? Good to know
Check the product status in Catalog Manager before opening your ticket: knowing whether it is displayed or not directly determines which of the two fixes applies.

In short

  • Several EAN values on a master listing almost always come from a Shop SKU re-imported with a different identifier.
  • Product already displayed: send us a Shop SKU / Product ID matching file.
  • Product not displayed yet: approve the deletion, then re-import with the correct identifiers.
  • Core rule: one Shop SKU = one product = one stable identifier.
