How do I optimize my product titles ?

Modifié le  Mar, 18 Août à 10:40 H

The title of a product listing is the first thing a customer reads on the Alltricks marketplace. This article covers the expected title template, the good practices, the common mistakes and the rules you must not break.

Why should I optimize my product titles?

A good product listing title is essential to catch attention and improve the conversion rate. It must be clear and informative, so that the listing looks credible and reflects exactly what you are offering.

A well-written title makes the listing easier to read: the customer identifies the product and its main features quickly. By working on your titles, you build the trust of potential buyers and maximize your chances of converting them into customers.

Which title template should I apply to a product listing?

The title template expected by Alltricks is shown in the screenshot below. This template positions your listing on keyword chains for SEO and gives visitors the first information about the product.

Which good practices and common mistakes should I remember?

Good practicesCommon mistakes
VTT tout suspendu Cannondale scalpel carbon 3 29'' shimano xt 12v guinness black 2021Product references, numbers or EAN in the title. Example: "Polo homme JN846 - gris carbone"
Casque intégral Kenny Decade Solid noirA title that is too short. Example: "Sac étanche" or "Commando"

Example of a title combining several mistakes: "JEU DE GUIDOLINE SUPACAZ BLING OR - BT-83 - 634154448601". It contains three mistakes: the use of a legally prohibited word (guidoline: use ruban de cintre instead), a title written entirely in capitals, and the EAN inside the title.

The full list of terms you must not use is given in Which words and brands are prohibited on the Alltricks marketplace?

Which rules apply to sizes and measurements?

⚠️ Important
When the product listing is linked to a Variant Group Code (VGC), adding the size to the title is prohibited. The size is already shown in the drop-down menu through the variant attribute value. See How do I use the Variant Group Code (VGC) to group my sizes?

You may enter measurements or sizes in the title for technical products only.

In short

  • Follow the Alltricks title template to position your listing on keyword chains.
  • Never write a title entirely in capital letters.
  • Do not put product references, EANs or unnecessary technical numbers in the title.
  • Do not add the size to the title when the listing is linked to a VGC.
  • Check that the title contains no prohibited word and no prohibited brand.
