The new tree structure: Questions/Answers

Introduction

In order to be always more efficient in the management of the catalog, a new tree structure is available! It will take some time to adapt, but here are the advantages of the new tree structure:

• All Alltricks categories are covered (vs the old one)
• Many additional attributes and attribute values will be available to arrange your products in the best possible way
• Better categorization = better visibility of your products

IMPORTANT: You have until January 1st to adapt to the new tree structure for at least the new products.

Your questions

What is the impact of the new tree structure on our old products? 

If you do not change the category of the old products accepted, there will be no impact. Focus first on using the new tree structure when creating your future products. 

In a second step, it may be worthwhile to go back to your old products, as many categories have more attributes that allow your products to be better referenced.

Warning: If you make this change, make sure that your products have all the mandatory attributes with the new tree structure because there may be differences between it and the old one. Otherwise, your products will become "invalid data" and will no longer be online. 

What to do with the products in temporary refusal, "waiting for the setting up of the category"? 

For these products, it is necessary to use the new tree structure because :

1. The category does not exist in the old tree structure
2. The category or the attributes are not linked to our back-office on the old tree and therefore even if your product is in "valid data", it will not be correctly categorized

When will the old tree be deleted (categories and attributes deleted)? 

Concerning the old tree structure, it will not be deleted, but it will no longer be processed by our teams at the announced date. It will surely be renamed to avoid confusion.
