A video on a product listing helps the customer picture the product and increases the chances of conversion. This article explains why you should add a video and how to get the YouTube embed code to fill in on the product listing.
Understanding the value of a video on a product listing
Videos enrich the content of the product listing by adding extra information and visual context. They show the product from several angles, explain its features and demonstrate its benefits far more concretely than text descriptions or photos.
In general, product listings that include a video can increase the conversion rate by more than 50%, because they help customers picture the product more easily.
For bike parts, a video is even more valuable. These technical products often require detailed explanations about their use, their installation or their maintenance. The video then acts as an installation tutorial, showing step by step how to fit the part: the buyer avoids common mistakes, saves time, and after-sales service requests go down.
Copying the embed code from YouTube
⚠️ Important
Do not paste the YouTube link as it is. The video field of the product listing expects the embed code, not the URL of the video.
On the YouTube page of the video, open the sharing options and copy the embed code, as shown in the screenshot below.

Locating the embed code once pasted as plain text
Paste the copied content as plain text, then locate the embed code. It starts with <iframe and ends with </iframe>:
<iframe width="1236" height="695" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uJ_qdmdEbOs" title="TEST MICHELIN Pneus Jet XC2" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Pasting the embed code on the product listing
Copy this code into the video field of the product listing, or into the product description.
In short
- Add a video whenever you can: it can increase the conversion rate by more than 50%.
- On bike parts, film the assembly: the video acts as a tutorial and reduces after-sales service requests.
- Copy the embed code from YouTube, never the YouTube link on its own.
- Paste the code starting with <iframe into the video field of the product listing or into the description.
