Dear Partners,

As you know, ensuring consumer protection in online shopping is a top priority today, both for legislators and for us. Inrecent years, several new regulations have been introduced to safeguard consumers' online experiences as effectively as possible.

In line with this, a new European regulation theGeneral Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) comes into force December,13th.

Both ALLTRICKS and its Marketplace partners mustcomply with this new regulation.

What is GSPR?

The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is a new European Regulation designed to ensure that all (non-food) products sold online are safe for consumers. It sets clear rules for manufacturers, importers, and sellers (economic operators) to follow so that people can shop with confidence, knowing that products meet high safety standards.

The GPSR aims to protect consumers by holding companies accountable and making sure that unsafe products don’t end up on the market.

Businesses selling products in the European Union need to provide important information about their products, such as the name and contact details of the manufacturer, clear identification of the product, and any safety warnings. This information must be easily visible to consumers when they shop online or in stores.

Please find the entire legal text here.

Who must comply with the GPSR?

As online sellers, you are concerned by this Regulation and required to provide that information for all the products you sell online, on any platform.

The GPSR is aimed at (a.o.) all professionals who sell products online within the European Union. Consequently, all SELLERS(whether established in the EU or not) that sell in the EU countries, must provide the required information.

Which products are concerned?

All products that are sold online and that are not :

  • food products ;
  • yet regulated by other specific regulations.

What should Partners Sellers do?
